Analee Styling

Concept

Analee Styling, a personal stylist/personal shopper startup came to me in search of a logo. In discussing her ideal brand, Tiffany’s blue mixed with sophistication, style & elegance came to mind. Being a somewhat daunting subject to me, I immediately launched into research before putting pen to paper.

Process

Again, as with most of my designs, I started with a sticky note. Central to this idea (left) was an elegant looping script spilling out of a circle and the secondary, defining word, stamped below the primary.

With the initial idea down on paper I began working it digitally to work out some of the unknowns. After a bit of working I was able to produce a concept for a primary and secondary logo that I felt met the clients criteria (below).

After presenting to the client, she felt that the logo felt more cutesy and playful than stylish and sophisticated so it was back to the drawing board. Fortunately, I did have another concept in mind and sketched out (right) but I didn’t show it because I felt it was too simple and too easy of a solution. As it turns out, the client loved it!

With the new direction in mind, I set off to fully hash out and pull together the design.

After pulling together all the elements I felt the design needed a splash of color and just making the text a color wasn’t a valid solution. I remembered that the client enjoyed painting so I added a light blue brush stroke, arching behind the logo.
